Through her involvement in community-based projects, Nakalema has supported initiatives that use sports, intercultural exchange, and interfaith dialogue as platforms for dialogue, leadership development, and conflict prevention. She has worked closely with vulnerable youth, adolescent girls, and young women, using sports spaces to foster life skills, health awareness, and positive social norms while reinforcing respect for human rights and the rule of law.
Her professional experience also includes participation in development programs implemented in partnership with international, regional and local organizations working in agricultural and community development, and climate resilience. She has supported program implementation through field-based training and research with a particular focus on understanding how climate-resilient livelihoods and inclusive governance can strengthen food security and resilience among low-income households.
Nakalema’s work is guided by a rights-based, community-led, and results-oriented approach, grounded in legal principles, accountability, and social equity. She is committed to using sports as a strategic entry point for sustainable development through bridging the law; promote youth engagement, and community action to build resilient, peaceful, inclusive and developmental communities.
