Nabaasa Cosma is a passionate Sports for Development Coordinator with a strong background in education and sports management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bishop Stuart University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, majoring in Sports Administration. His academic training has equipped him with a solid foundation in pedagogy, sports management, and community development through sport.
Over the years, Nabaasa Cosma has successfully coordinated multiple Sports for Development (S4D) projects focusing on key thematic areas such as education improvement, peacebuilding, climate change awareness, and mental health promotion. Through his leadership, these initiatives have leveraged the power of sport as a transformative tool to inspire youth, improve on quality education, foster social inclusion in refugee and host communities, and enhance community resilience to climate change.
He has implemented and managed sports for development projects funded by international organizations including the French development Agency (AFD), Impact Fund, Madiro, AstraZeneca, United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), and its partners such as UNAOC, UNCRI and ICSS. His ability to design, implement, and evaluate impactful community-based programs has made him a key player in advancing the sport for development agenda.
To strengthen his professional capacity, Nabaasa Cosma has attended several capacity-building trainings, including Monitoring and Evaluation with GIZ, Sports for Development with the Scort Foundation, Safeguarding Policy Training, and Impact Measurement Training. These trainings have enriched his expertise in project management, accountability, and safeguarding principles in sports programming.
Driven by a passion for youth empowerment and sustainable community development, Nabaasa Cosma continues to promote the integration of sports as a catalyst for education, peace, and social change.
