At Integrated Community Development Initiative, ICODI, impact is not measured only by numbers but by the lasting changes we create in the lives of people and the communities we serve. Since 2010, our integrated community driven approach has enabled thousands of families across Uganda to access better health, stronger livelihoods, improved education, and greater social inclusion.
- Transforming Health and Wellbeing
Through our Health Promotion Programs, ICODI has reached tens of thousands of women, children, and young people with life saving information and services. Our HIV prevention, PMTCT, cervical cancer awareness, and environmental health initiatives have increased early diagnosis, improved treatment adherence, and reduced stigma in vulnerable communities. Many mothers and children who once had limited access to care are now actively engaged in health services and leading healthier lives. - Empowering Women, Girls, and Youth
ICODI places women and young people at the center of development. Our programs for adolescent girls and young women have strengthened HIV prevention knowledge, promoted sexual and reproductive health rights, and challenged harmful cultural norms that fuel gender based violence. Youth led sports, peace building, and entrepreneurship initiatives have helped young people build confidence, leadership skills, and income generating abilities. - Strengthening Livelihoods and Food Security
Through regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and household nutrition programs, ICODI has supported thousands of rural and urban families to improve food production, household income, and nutrition. These interventions have helped communities adapt to climate change, reduce hunger, and build more resilient local economies. - Building Peace and Social Cohesion
In refugee settlements and host communities, ICODI has used sports, dialogue, and youth engagement to promote tolerance, reduce conflict, and strengthen relationships across cultures, religions, and nationalities. Our peace building programs have empowered young people to become active agents of stability and social harmony in their communities. - Creating Sustainable Community Change
ICODI works with government institutions, schools, health facilities, and local leaders to ensure that the impact of our programs continues beyond individual projects. By building local capacity, supporting peer educators, and strengthening community structures, we help communities own and sustain their development progress.
Every life reached, every household empowered, and every young person supported brings us closer to our vision of communities that are self reliant, healthy, and socially and economically empowered.
